Banking & Finance Lawyers Melbourne & Gold Coast

Strategic legal services across secured lending, property finance, private lending, and loan structuring. We act for borrowers, lenders, developers, and private financiers from initial structuring through to settlement and enforcement.

Who we work with

Borrowers: Whether you're funding a home, a business, an investment, or a development project, we review and negotiate your loan and security documents to make sure your interests are protected.

Private lenders and non-bank financiers: If you're lending privately or through a non-bank structure, we help you formalise the arrangement, prepare proper security documentation, and ensure your position is enforceable.

Developers and project sponsors: Property acquisition finance, construction funding, mezzanine arrangements, and multi-lender structures. We make sure the finance side of your project is documented properly and moves on time.

What we help with

Our banking and finance lawyers advise on a wide range of lending and finance matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, loan documents, and security instruments

  • Senior debt, mezzanine finance, and second mortgage funding arrangements

  • Private lending and non-bank financing transactions

  • Property acquisition and development finance

  • Project finance and construction funding

  • Guarantees, indemnities, and security arrangements (mortgages, PPSR, caveats)

  • Preparing and registering mortgages, caveats, and other security instruments

  • PPSR registration and compliance

  • Intercreditor and priority deeds

  • Loan structuring and refinancing

  • Mortgage enforcement, recovery, and insolvency-related advice

  • Legal due diligence on borrowers, guarantors, and security

What the process looks like

Step 1. Tell us about the transaction: Get in touch by phone or email. We'll discuss the financing arrangement, the parties involved, the timeline, and what you need from a legal perspective.

Step 2. We review the structure and confirm costs: You'll receive clear advice on the proposed arrangement, any risks to be aware of, and transparent pricing before any work begins.

Step 3. We prepare or review the documentation: Your lawyer drafts or reviews the facility agreement, security documents, and any ancillary instruments, making sure everything is commercially sound and properly protects your position.

Step 4. We coordinate with all parties: We liaise with the other side's lawyers, brokers, valuers, and financiers to negotiate terms, resolve any issues, and keep the transaction moving to meet your settlement deadline.

Step 5. Settlement and registration: We attend settlement, handle registration of mortgages, caveats, and PPSR interests, and confirm all security is in place. If any post-settlement steps are needed, we'll let you know.

Whether you're borrowing, lending, or structuring project finance, we make sure the documentation is right and your position is secure. Talk to our banking and finance team today.
